Hunger Games Due 12/10

What do you think is the cruelest part of the "Hunger Games?" What kind of people would devise this spectacle for the entertainment of their populace? Can you see parallels between these Games and the society that condones them, and other events and cultures in the history of the world?

  1. I think that there are actually two parts that are the cruelest part of the "Hunger Games". There was the time when Rue was killed by that boy, Marvel. There was also the time when Cato was killed by the muttations. They literally ate him alive! The people who love watching this "entertainment" is the Capitol. The good thing is that not all the people in the Capitol love this. It is mostly the president. President Snow does this to show that the Capiol has control over everyone. Mostly the president does anyway. If they didn't have control, there would be another uprising for sure... The Hunger Games are kind of like a mini war if you think of it. Although what makes it even worse is that the adults don't fight the war, the children do. thsi can remind anyone about hungry children and wars...

  2. When I first read the Hunger Games, I thought that it was completely wrong. But really, we aren't much better in modern day. We have shows about violence, even though it's not real. Some people watch movies just as bad as the Hunger Games. This is merely entertainment so that the capital can remind the people of Panem that they have control. It is kind of a threat to the districts. If the capital doesn't have control, they fear something terrible will happen, when really the Hunger Games are terrible enough. The Hunger Games are very cruel, especially that they make the people of Panem watch all the teenagers and kids try to murder each other. I can just picture Rue's parents crying, and being forced to celebrate when there is one survivor.

  3. I think the cruelest part of the hunger games is the gross death of Glimmer. The capitol made a tracker jacker nest and Glimmer suffered. The cruel people who made it I think might be anyone wishing for conntrol and wealth. They are likely people with wealth that are selfish and want to show no one can be wealthy like them. All the culters are evil and obviously connected to the hunger games in terms of wealth and amusement for the people of the capitol. It is wealth I think controls everyone and makes them cruel. The hunger games, the name itself shows that it is attempting to show evil in my oppinion.

  4. Truthfuly I think that the crulest part of the Hunger Games was either when Clove or Cato died. Cato died with the muttations. Clove died when Thresh crushed her skull in and killed her. I think President Snow wants to have people under control so they don't start an uprising. I think how it condones with the society is the society reflects on the richer and more poor districts. Like the rich guys love going in to the Hunger Games but other districts think of it as a death sentence.
