  1. In The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Bruno seems to be younger than nine, maybe since he has been somewhat pampered all his life. Gretel and her friends tease Bruno about being younger than nine. I think that Bruno has decided that since "the monster" said it was true, it was then true. Bruno doesn't exactly think common sense or act nine since he has been pampered for so long. He has maids and servants think common sense for him. He has never been taught the smart way and the dumb way to do things, like a small child. These are my reasons that Bruno acts younger than his real age, nine years old.

  2. Bruno seems to be younger than nine because, as 'the monster' stated, he's not as tall as a nine year old would be. He also seems younger than nine because, as Zoe said, he seems slightly spoiled and pampered. It also has to do with his intellect because if he was nine than I think he would know about why the family was moving instead of going around and asking the maids.

  3. In The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas, Bruno and Gretel's relationship is not the closest or the best. Gretel has always better then Bruno, this is also because she is older. So Bruno always tries to be better than her. Once they move to “Out- With” they become closer because they are both equally confused about the move, and both miss their home that they left behind, and they both want to know what’s going on and just go back home and to their normal lives again. That is Bruno and Gretel’s relationship.
Bruno seems younger than nine because of the way he asks and thinks. Bruno doesn’t know what’s going on and he just wants to go back home and he gets really frustrated and he gets mad and sometimes starts to cry. He also doesn’t understand things very well and he lives in his own world where he only matters. That is why one reason he is so upset to be moving to the new house, because his perfect world is not so perfect anymore because he has left his house and all of his friends. That is why Bruno seems younger than nine.

This is a great book so far!

  4. I think that Bruno is younger than nine because he is short and he is not educated in the diffrent life that he lives and the boys live. He does not even know of Hittlers crulety and punishment to the jews. You would think that he is younger than nine because hfe is afraid of his sister and does not stand up for his beliefs. If I were him I would run away right now to his friends house and stay out of the way.

  5. In the book " The boy in the striped pajamas" Bruno and Gretel's relationship isn't very good as Pilar said Gretel is always better than Bruno so Bruno gets jealous sometimes and he doesn't really like Gretel and wonders why she has to come on the trip with them. When they go to "Out-With they become tighter as siblings.
Bruno seems younger than nine because he acts like he is younger than nine and he doesn't think like a nine year old. He should know maybe what is going on or think about what is going to happen. Bruno has had everything he wanted back in Berlin but when he goes to "Out-With" he doesn't get everything he wants. Bruno seems younger than nine.
