  1. This curse that Stanley Yelnats supposedly has affects him in certain things. Stanley is always at the wrong place and at the wrong time. He barely ever has any luck. And now, he has been sent to Camp Green Lake for something he didn't do. Stanley blames it all on his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather.
"Supposedly, he had a great-great-grandfather who had stolen a pig from a one-legged gypsy, and she put a curse on him and all his descendents. Stanley and his parents didn't believe in curses, of course, but when any thing went wrong, it felt good to be able to blame someone." page eight.

The curse effected him by having him look like he stole sneakers by hitting him in the head with them.
"He had just walked out from under a freeway overpass when the shoe had hit him in the head."

  4. Stanley likes the curse. He likes it because it is something to blame for all of his terrible misfortunes. Since he is consistantly in the wrong place at the wrong time. He constantly picked on and overweight, living in a tiny apartment stinking of rubber and shoes. He likes to think that It's not his fault that he's stuck with all this, but someone elses'. He thinks the curse is amusing and though he doesn't believe in it, he wants to. He wants to think that one day it will all be overwith, The day his no good dirty rotten pig stealin' great great grandfather carries mrs Zeroni up the mountain. "It was a family joke. Whenever anything went wrong they would blam his no good dirty rotten pig stealin' great great grandfather."

  5. I think Stanley hates the curse because he is always in wrong place and the time. Like when he was walking under the freeway and the shoes hit him on the head and at that time the police were sitting right by the curb. That is how stanley got to camp green lake. I do like how Stanley says "he can blame it on someone" page 8. ISAAC
