  1. I think that in Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh, the literary device they use is dialogue. They probably use the most dialogue of any book I've ever read. For example, on page eight, when Mrs. Frisby finds out that Timothy is sick, there is a whole conversation about the special breakfast. Another example is when Mrs. Frisby and Jeremy are talking while she's freeing him from the string that has him trapped. I think that using dialogue made this book easier to understand.

  2. There is a plethera of literary devices in this book however I will only be pointing out two literary dervices.First, in this book there is personification. For example, the crow was having a conversation with Mrs.Frisby about the owl.Second, is the asyndeton. While this in mind one example is when the rats process in carring is pause, rest, and heave again. Those are two literary devices I noticed in this book.

  3. An example of personification is, "The rat was very young indeed, only a child." That is an example of a literary device because it was personification. One other example is,"Oh mother, cried Cynthia I was so worried. "The next example is," He looked embarrassed and stared at his feet." These are all examples of a literary device because they are all examples of personification and they are all a animal talking.

  4. The literary device used is having very descriptive language and the story is being told in first person. Miss Frisby is telling her perspective of the story. She uses phrases like, "I had to call on the faithful rats of Niphm." She used descriptive language and first person when telling about the baby having "beautiful brown eyes just like me." jack k

  5. Personification in Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NYMH

The whole story of Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NYMH is all about personification. Personification is the literary device that stands out the most. The first major sign of personification is the animals taking. This is a big part of the book because the animals are mostly the only things that talk. Another example is that animals might do what humans do. A part of the story that supports this is that when Mrs. Frisby was in the rat kingdom Justin exclaimed, “We’ve had electricity for four years now.” In conclusion, Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NYMH is a great example of personification.
