I grew up in a suburb of Chicago and attended the University of Missouri at Columbia for my undergrad. I have a Masters in Elementary Education from Regis.
I come from a family with four kids. My sister is a teacher in Chicago. One of my brothers lives here and the other one lives in Chicago. I moved here because my husband loved Colorado and I loved him. As it turns out,I love Colorado as well.
Has your prediction of who the murderer is changed? If so, who do you think it is now? Use examples from the text to support your answer. You must answer this post as well a fellow group member's post. This is worth five points.
I think that the murderer is Sydelle Pulaski because she has a limp. She is also dying for attention. Sydelle is very angry but is trying to get attention.By murdering Mr. Westing she would have all the attention she wanted. Also I don't think the murderer is J.J. Ford because she is a judge, plus she is very rational. It is not Sandy, he seems so so nice. It could be Crow or Otis they both are kind of mysterious. Angela is way too sweet and kind. Turtle was there on the night of the murder but we saw and heard all of what happened so it wasn't her even though she isn't my favorite character and she isn't kind. Doug Hoo is annoying and I don't like him but he isn't the murderer.
I still believe that the murderer is Crow. Like I said before the book talks almost nothing about her. She also seems like a very dark person. I believe that Crow is the murderer.
I believe that the murderer is either Turtle or Chris. This is because of their innocence. If they were very suspicious then they would be too obvious. Also, Chris would have the perfect disguise, being handicapped. Turtle seems not at all the person who would kill someone, and she is just so well written. The author might be trying to lead you off by holding back information on characters. Turtle's character is so well writ and she appears to be a large part of the book. Also I read the will and looked at the clues over and over. The part Chris figured out, Ford and Otis, rules out them immediately. This is because Sam Westing wrote 'It's not what you have, but what you don't have that counts'. In addition, Crow is such a dark person, she is immediately ruled out, because she is so obvious. The clue Shin, which I believe means Shin Hoo, rules him out, as does the clue Grace (Grace Westing). I could list all fourteen that can be removed, butthat would h=take a while.
Camilla, Sydelle Pulaski might be the murderer, but there are a few loopholes. First, Sam Westing could have been killed before, and second, it says that one was guilty of some offense, but not the murder. The reason you gave about Doug Hoo is good but it isn't a actual reason. But it is a good idea. Sydelle Pulaski is a suspect, and likely too be guilty. OSCAR
I think the the murder is Sydelle Pulaski because she has a limp and at sometimes acts suspicious. Like Camilla said she's desperate for attention and could have thought she would get a lot of attention if she murdered Sam Westing.I used to think the murderer was Crow because she had a limp and is not the brightest and up to tell everyone what she did. But, Sydelle acts a lot more suspicious than Crow, desperate for attention.
I think Sydelle Pulaski is the murderer because at one point in the book she said " No one notices Sydelle Pulaki, but now they will." That sounds very strange and if she murdered Sam Westing, everyone notices them. ~Tabitha
My guess is Sydelle Pulaski because Turtle might have wanted to defend Sam Westing by kicking Sydelle in the shins. Then Turtle could have gotten knocked out and Sydelle murdered Sam and left with a limp. Avery

I agree with Camilla. I don’t think that the murder is the judge either. I was sort of thinking it was Sydlle for a little but not co much.

Yes, I agree with Erik and Camilla because she does act suspicious and does have a limp.
