- I grew up in a suburb of Chicago and attended the University of Missouri at Columbia for my undergrad. I have a Masters in Elementary Education from Regis. I come from a family with four kids. My sister is a teacher in Chicago. One of my brothers lives here and the other one lives in Chicago. I moved here because my husband loved Colorado and I loved him. As it turns out,I love Colorado as well.
I think Sam Westing disguised himself as Sandy because he wanted to see what his friends were doing without him around. One reason is that Sam asked Turtle questions about the other owners when he died. At one point Turtle asked ''why did you do this,'' but Sam was weak.

I think Sam Westing was probably bored with his every day life. He probably wanted a change and an adventure. Also he probably wanted to see what different life styles are like. After being Sam he was Barney. Once he got tired of being Barney he was Sandy. After being sandy he was J.J Eastman. Sam probably had many adventures as different people with different lifestyles. In Conclusion, I think Sam Westing's motive was wanting adventure and wanting to live different lifestyles.

I think Sam Westing did what he did because he wanted to see how the people would react. First, he wanted to see what they would do. He wanted to see what they were doing. He wanted a changed in his life. In conclusion, I think that is why he did what he did.

I think Sam Westing did what he did because he was tired of his life and wanted a new one. Then, when he became Sandy, he wanted to be different again. So, he became J.J. Eastman. Sam was also Barney Northrup and Windy Windklopel. His motive was wanting a different life and to make people confused.
ReplyDeleteI think Sam Westing did what he did because he wanted to know what would happen. He wanted to see how people would act if he died. So, he disguised himself as Sandy Mc Southers and made a fake wax copy of himself. This copy convinced everyone that he was dead. There was no proof that he was still alive except his hand felt waxy. Also, when Sandy died he had a fresh bruise on his leg, but the only person Turtle had kicked that day was Barney Northrup. Sam Westing saw it all he saw how the problem was solved and how the people handled their clues. Sam Westing did a risky thing, but for a good reason.
ReplyDeleteI also realized... The fake names of Sam Westing were, Sandy Mc Southers, Barney Northrup and Julian Eastman. Each of he names has a direction in them,north, south, east, and west.
The will said,” The one who finds the fourth.”
This means the one who finds the fourth Sam Westing or the fourth direction.

I think Sam Westing did what he did for a few reasons. One, he may have done it because his daughter died because of Crow. Two, he was probably insane. I think it’s both reasons. Also, he could have done it for the fun of it. If I had a daughter that committed suicide because her mother wanted her to marry some random person, was insane, and wanted to prank people I would have done it!!! In conclusion, these are the reasons I think Sam Westing did what he did.(which was make up a crazy, mystery, murder game, said he was dead even though he wasn’t, and dressed up as four people.)
