  1. I think that the woman in the window was an old teacher of Parvana’s. I think this because the teacher was trying to get through to her with the presents. The reason that the author decided to add this character is that it makes the book more exciting. It makes it more exciting by adding an element of surprise to the book. For example, I was really surprised when the first present got dropped on her. In a way, at first I thought it was a bomb. In conclusion, I think that the woman in the window was a past teacher of Parvana’s.

  2. I think the women in the window is Shauzia mom. I think of that because Shauzia says that her family always is arguing and never happy. Her mom may have been screaming because Shauzia's grandparent may have been screaming at her mom. Also, I think Deborah Ellis included her in this book maybe just to make the book more interesting and include a mysterious window women. In conclusion, that is who I think the window women is ane why I think Deborah Ellis included window women in this book. -mylie

  4. I think the lady in the window is Parvana's friend. The reason I think this is because, the lady in the window cares about Parvana working so hard digging up bones from a grave. I think Deborah Ellis includes the lady in the window in the story because someone is showing kindness to a upset, hard working little girl. The women in the window is kind to Parvana by throwing small gifts onto Parvana's blanket. Parvana is very close to the women in the window. She lives in the building behind Parvana's work.
