I grew up in a suburb of Chicago and attended the University of Missouri at Columbia for my undergrad. I have a Masters in Elementary Education from Regis.
I come from a family with four kids. My sister is a teacher in Chicago. One of my brothers lives here and the other one lives in Chicago. I moved here because my husband loved Colorado and I loved him. As it turns out,I love Colorado as well.
Who do you think the woman in the window is? Why do you think Deborah Ellis included her in the book? Use text examples to support your answer, this is worth five points.
I think that the woman in the window is a woman who likes Parvana. Parvana was talking about her and Shauzia rescuing her like she was a prinncess. She is probably scared to go outside because of the Taliban. The man screaming at her was probably a Taliban. I think that Deborah Ellis included her in the book because she might appear in Parvana's Journey or Mud City. She probably won't appear in Parvana's Journey because it's probably away from Parvana's town.
I think the woman in the window is a lady who's family was killed by the Taliban. I think she lives alone and thinks of Parvana as her only friend, so she gives gifts to her. "As she wondered where it had come from, her eyes went up to the blacked-out window where she thought she had seen a flicker of movement a few weeks before" Page 93. I think Deborah Ellis included her for Parvana to see what she could become. -Jack
