  1. Education is important in Afghanistan because alot of people need to buy food from markets so, they would need an education to pay for the food. Being educated can't hurt your life in any way.

  3. In afghanistan education is important because if they get a letter the need to be able to read it instead of having someone to read it for them. being educated cant hurt your life, uless you are educated in a different country and someone doesn't like it, like in the breadwinner her dad gets punished for studying in england.

  4. Education is important in Afghanistan because a lot of people go to the market to buy and sell things and, if someone asked them to read or answer a question they would need education to do it. In the book a soldier asks Parvana to read a letter, that she had learned to read in school before she was able to read it. Being educated is a good thing not a bad thing.

  5. Education is important in Afghanistan because the Taliban knows it’s easier to control people who are uneducated than it is people who are educated. So if the people get educated they will learn that there are other countries where people have more rights and freedoms, and they will want this and they may start to challenge the Taliban. Afghanistan was ruled by the Taliban, and the Taliban wanted very few people to get educations and be smart, because the Taliban always wanted to get their way. So if you are educated, the Taliban might feel threatened by you and arrest you. An example of 3 is when Parvana’s dad is taken away by the Taliban because he was educated.

  6. Education is important in Afghanistan because alot of people need to purchase goods from markets and shops. Education is also important in Afgahnistan because otherwise you might not get a fair trade for something. Being educated can effect your life in Afghanistan because the Taliban burn books they do not like. Being educated in Afgahnistan can also effect your life because the Taliban do not believe women and girls should go to school so if they are educated they can get taken away from there family. Education is a good thing in some places but not in Afgahnistan.

  7. Education is important because you can't get a decent job without education. If you can't get a good job, you can't earn enough money to live on. If you can't earn money, you can't get a house or food. If you can't get food, you can't live. Education can hurt your life in Afghanistan if you're a woman because you are not supposed to go to school or get educated as a woman. Because it's against the law there, you could get beaten and thrown in jail for life. If you are a man, education can hurt you in Afghanistan if you get it from another country. For example, Parvana's father was thrown in jail by the Taliban because he was educated in England.

  8. It is important in Afghanistan because if they don't have education they will be illiterate...which would mean they coundn't read or write the prices in the market. Education doesn't hurt your life, but the lack of education can hurt your life. For example, when the Taliban member needed to read his dead wife's letter, he had to ask Parvana to read the letter for him. That is why Afghanistan needs education. Devon
