  1. The Rosetta stone is important because scientists and historians finally had the key to translating hieroglyphics. The Rosetta stone had three huge paragraphs that all said the same thing but in different languages that the scientist new so they could decode it. In the book the Rosetta stone is magical and carter and Sadie’s father try’s to summon Osiris the god of death , so he can bring his wife back from the dead ,but it doesn't go so well.

  2. The Rosetta stone is such an important part of Egyptian history. It was found on the western mouth of the Nile in 1799 and taken to the British Museum. Its inscription tells of an agreement between the Egyptian priests and the Macedonian Pharaoh Ptolemy V Epiphanies. Thomas Young proved that it had the same massage carved in three separate languages Hieroglyphics, Demotic Characters and Greek. The first man understood it was the same message three ways and the second man was able to understand what the message said. Jean-Francois Champollion was the second man and he translated the Rosetta stone in 1822 which led to the decipherment of Egyptian hieroglyphics.
At the time the Rosetta stone was carved it was probably no big deal but over the years it became an important connection between Ancient Egypt and the modern world. Its role in the novel was to provide the power to make Dr. Kane’s magic work. The book called it a powerful symbol. Dr. Kane took his children Sadie and Carter to the British Museum on Christmas Eve so he could use its power to summon the God Osiris. However, it had so much power it exploded and opened a magical door for five gods to come through from the underworld which they called the Duat. For a small piece of carved granite it had a big role in Ancient Egyptian history.

  3. The Rosetta Stone is a very important part of both Egyptian history and the novel The Red Pyramid. The Rosetta Stone is important to history because it was the key to the millions of Egyptian hieroglyphs that are everywhere in the Egyptian ruins. The Rosetta Stone is important to The Red Pyramid because The Rosetta Stone is one of the objects of Ancient Egypt that can release some of the gods. The Rosetta stone is also important to both history and this novel because it is one of the most important objects in the Egyptian history. The Rosetta Stone is Important no matter what because it is the key to the hieroglyphics.

  4. The Rosetta Stone is such an important part of history because the stone helped explorers understand the past of Egypt and its many gods. It was the key to translating it translated hieroglyphics. The role of the stone in the book is when Julius blows the stone to peace it releases five gods. When the five gods get released the world of good magic is in threat. I think that the Rosetta Stone is the idea of the story.

  5. The Rosetta Stone is important to the book because it was the key to learning hieroglyphs. Mortals could not read hieroglyphs until the stone was discovered. The stone is an important connection between today and ancient Egypt. The Rosetta Stone is what Sadie and Carters dad used to try and bring back the Egyptian god of the dead to bring back their mother. But when the door was opened it released unexpected guests which started Sadie and Carters adventure.

  6. The Rosetta Stone is so important to Egypt's history and the novel because it was the key to learning hieroglyphics. The Rosetta Stone also, held five of the gods in it. So, when Carter and Sadie's dad accidentally blew up the Rosetta Stone, he had unleashed the five gods. That is how Carter and Sadie are in big trouble. So, the Rosetta Stone is very important to all people and the Egyptians.

  7. The Rosetta Stone is kind of a cage for five gods that were held captive. When Carter's and Sadie's dad used the wand he accidentally unleashed all five instead of one. The one he was trying to unleash Osiris. He was doing that because he wanted to bring back their mom from death. Their mom died in a car accident.
