The Westing Game Due 11/12

Who do you think is the murderer and why? Use examples from the text to support your answer. In addition, once you have posted your reflection, you must respond to another group member's post. Do you agree or disagree with their notion of who the murderer is? Why or why not? In total, this will be worth five points

  1. Right now, I think the murderer is Hoo. I think the ghastly killer because on the (Grace and Hoo's)clues because they say that the assassin is in FOR SEA (four c). He says he's not the murderer. That's why I think Hoo's the killer. I think the bomber is J.J. Ford because we don't hear lots of him at all.

  2. I think the murderer is Crow or Otis Amber, because when Chris saw the person go into the Westing mansion, the person had a limp like Crow. Also because Otis Amber seems way too happy; all of the other heirs are cautious because they know one of them is a murderer, but Otis Amber is all happy and it is suspicious. Or it also could be Sydelle Pulaski, because at the start she thinks, "no one ever notices Sydelle Pulaski, but now they will. Now they will." I think she meant that she was gonna do something bad, like murder someone. I think the murderer is either Sydelle Pulaski, Otis Amber or Crow.

  3. I think the murder is Mr. Hoo. I think that because he was so calm when someone bombed his restaurant. Also, he has an alibi. He states , " My wife and I barely speak any English". Mr Hoo also frequently states, "I didn't do it!"

  4. I agree with luke that mr. Hoo is the murder. But thea's answer also makes sense beacuse of the limping person going into the mansion.

  5. I think the murderer is Otis Amber. I think this because while everyone is acting suspicious he is strangely happy. He would also be the person that could go into the Westing mansion the easiest because he is out all day and could say that he was delivering a package to whoever saw him enter the house. I think he could also be the bomber because he also says boom all the time and enjoys it. He also , as far as I know, was not mentioned at the bomber sites when the bombs went off and could have placed the bombs on a timer and have far away to not get hurt. I think Otis Amber is the murderer.

  6. I do not agree with Lukey Rae. I do not believe that Mr. Hoo is the murderer because there is only one clue pointing to him. In the will it said that they would have to put all the clues together. I also do not agree with his assessment of the bomber because there are no real clues pointing to her. I overall do not agree with Lukey Rae.

  7. I think that Otis is the murderer because he is way too happy. He also sends letters from a nonexistent person (Barney Northrup). We also don't know a lot about him, so he is very shady. Chris also found a clue pointing to him. That is why Otis Amber should be the murderer.

So, I do not agree with Maya and her assessment that Mr. Hoo is the murderer. One reason is that Mr. Hoo was the second to be bombed. In that case Mr. Hoo might have been more calm than the Theodorakis kids. There is also only one clue pointing to him. That is why I do not agree with Maya.
