  1. I think she is an old woman who knows Parvanas a girl because shes see Parvana's face many times when she came with her father to the market.I think Deborah Ellis includes this character to campare and contrast with parvana's adventures and the normal life of an Afghanistan woman.{The little gifts from the window kept landing on Parvana's blanket every couple of weeks. Sometimes it was a piece of embroidery.}Page 133

  2. At first i thought the window woman was parvanas father until the book mentioned its a woman. Then I thought the window woman was shazias family. But then I remembered the woman only had a husband and not any kids.you see? My thoughts are always changing but right now a think the window woman nows every thing there is to know about parvana. At the end it showed parvana really cared about the window woman, acording to page 162,"If she planted the flowers where she usually put her blanket, the window woman would know she was not coming back. The flowers would be somthing pretty to look at. She hoped they would make a good present."

  4. I think the window woman is Mrs. Weera. Why would a complete stranger give parvana random gifts. Maybe the building where parvana's spot is used to be where Mrs. Weera lived. I think that Deborah Ellis includes the window woman to make the story more interesting. It also makes the book mysterious. Connor

  6. I think that the window woman is a young lady that knows Parvana is a girl. I think that because the window woman probably recognized her face from Parvana coming to work with her dad. When Parvana has to leave and go find her mother she plants a flower for the Window Woman. On page 162 Parvana tought," If I plant the flowers where I usually put my blanket, the window woman will know that I am not coming back."

  7. I think it adds to the suspense whenever the Window Woman is around. Without her, the book would have been less exciting. I think the Window woman is Ms. Weera. After all, she did have a lot of spare time on her hands. Plus, it would have to be someone who knew Parvana was a girl.

  8. I think the window woman is a girl who wants to help Parvanas family. I think the "gifts" are things she wants Parvana to sell for money. Maybe this mysterious woman is hoping to send Parvana a message that she would like some help to get outside. I also think the window woman gave Parvana hope and in turn Parvana gave her hope by knowing someone is excepting her presents. When Parvana planted the wildflowers where her stand used to be (161-162) I think the window woman's bubble of hope burst. I think this charecter was added to give Parvana hope and add mystery to the book.

  9. I think the Window Woman shows that there is still HOPE and NEIGHBORLINESS is still possible even with the Taliban. It gives Parvana courage and hope.
