Holes Due 10/29

When Hattie Parker sees Katherine and Sam kiss, she says, "God will punish you!" Based on the events later in the book, whom do you think God punished? This should be a minimum of five sentences. Please use evidence from the book to support your answer. This is worth five points.

  1. I think the warden got punished the most because she was abusing children and deleted all Zeros folders. But When Hattie Parker sees Kissing Kate Barlow and Sam the onion man kiss she get punished to. See, if Hattie Parker did not tell everybody that they kissed Sam would not be dead. In the end the warden got fired and the camp trend into a Girl Scout camp. I think that it is funny because Mr. Sir said this is not Girl Scout camp.

  2. In Holes, I think that God punished Stanley's great great grandfather. His great great grandfather became successful and it seemed like the Yelnats' curse was broken. Then, Kissin' Kate Barlow robed Stanley's great great grandfather and took all of his fortune. The curse may have been gone, but it seems like God was now punishing the Yelnats family. In the end, they Yelnats family got the fortune back so they realized that God didn't punish them and the curse probably wasn't real either.

  3. When Hattie Parker sees Katherine and Sam kiss, she says, "God will punish you!" So, as a punishment Sam was killed and Katherine was saved against her will. Who did god punish Katherine, Sam, or were they kissed? It’s hard to tell, but all three were punished. Sam was punished with death, Katherine was punished with sorrow for Sam, and were they kissed never again got a single drop of rain. Katherine was punished the most because as it says in the book Katherine Barlow died laughing. Also the kids who would dig up the lake later on were punished.

  4. I think god punished Katherine because later in the book she becomes Kissin' Kate Barlow and then dies. She became Kate Barlow because she was so sad that Sam died that she became an outlaw. Then 20 years later in the book, Katherine a.k.a(Kissin' Kate Barlow) hides her treasure and Hattie Parker and her husband go into Kate's house and demand to tell them where the treasure is. When Kate goes out of the house she stands near a yellow spotted lizard and dies laughing. That is why I think god had punished Katherine.

  5. I think that God punished Katherine because more bad things happened to her than to Sam. For example Katherine’s school burned down because Trout Walker was jealous of Sam. Also the only thing that was real bad for Sam was that he and his donkey were shot. Another thing is that when Kissin’ Kate Barlow also known as Katherine was in the ghost town and her student from school and her husband found her they tortured her until she was bit by the yellow spotted lizard.

Of course, there is another way to look at it. You could say that God punished the entire town of Green Lake. After they killed Sam, Kate came back and killed all of the people who were involved. The lake dried up, and the town failed. Finally, the treasure ended up with Stanley and none of those bad people ever got their hands on it.

  6. I think the whole town got wipped in a drought. Well that's right after sam died. Kate actully had killed alot of people because they were all involved with killing sam, but Trout Walker had survived.
Later he visited kate and trout saw a shovel and said "She has buried it" but that's just when Kate got bitten by Yellow Spotted lizard bit kate she died laughing.
