- I grew up in a suburb of Chicago and attended the University of Missouri at Columbia for my undergrad. I have a Masters in Elementary Education from Regis. I come from a family with four kids. My sister is a teacher in Chicago. One of my brothers lives here and the other one lives in Chicago. I moved here because my husband loved Colorado and I loved him. As it turns out,I love Colorado as well.
This is my response to the reading blog question for Breadwinner. Education is important in Afghanistan because they need smart people in their country to over throw the Taliban. That’s why they didn’t anybody learning anything, but the Kran, so they wouldn’t be over thrown. The Taliban also got rid of all the American ideas of the freedom of religion. Being educated can hurt you if the Taliban are trying to stop you from being educated. But it doesn’t if your trying to over throw the Taliban, it doesn’t. And that takes me right back where I started, so long story short, boo Taliban!

Education is important because smart people are needed to defeat the Taliban. The Taliban don't want to be over thrown so they shut down schools. The more educated the people are the more power they have against the Taliban and the more they know that the Taliban's rules are bad. For example, women are not allowed out side alone because the Taliban have harsh rules. The little girl tried to go to the market but got kicked out because she is a girl. The mom's friend comes over to help the girls family. She dresses the girl as a boy so she can get food for the family. That is a summery of the beginning of The Breadwinner.

ReplyDeleteAfghanistan needs educated people so they can be free and become a modern country. They need to be cunning (like a fox:D) to overthrow the Taliban. They arrest people who are educated in other countries because they have different ideas. They put people in jail because the Taliban don't want people to share foreign ideas. Some people want to go to other countries but the Taliban doesn't want ANYBODY to go ANYWHERE. That's why people need to be educated in Parvana's world.
Afghanistan needs education because Afghanistan can't become free if they don't know much. The Taliban don't want to be overthrown so they arrest people who had been educated in different countries. For example, Parvana's dad gets arrested for being educated in Great Britain. You can tell that he has a better education compared to everyone else.That is my response for the Breadwinner.

This is my response to the question. Education is important because if nobody knows how to do anything. Another reason that people need education is to get rights to themselves. How is anybody going to overthrow the Taliban if they don't know anything? Education can hurt your life in Afganistan because it makes you a target for the Taliban. Parvana's father was imprisoned by the Taliban because he was educated in Britian. Afganistan is a dangerous place to live.
