I grew up in a suburb of Chicago and attended the University of Missouri at Columbia for my undergrad. I have a Masters in Elementary Education from Regis.
I come from a family with four kids. My sister is a teacher in Chicago. One of my brothers lives here and the other one lives in Chicago. I moved here because my husband loved Colorado and I loved him. As it turns out,I love Colorado as well.
Did Manjiro ever become a samurai? Use text examples from the text to support your answer. This post should be a MINIMUM of five sentences. Please check your grammar and capitalization. This is worth five points.
This is my response to the reading blog. I think that Manjiro became a samurai. Here is my reasoning. 1. The messenger said that he would be either killed or made a samurai. 2. He clearly was not killed, so he became a samurai. 3. The Japanese were ready for an attack when Manjiro returned, so theoretically they would want a samurai with vast knowledge of the Americans. That is why I think that Manjiro became a samurai.
Manjiro eventually did become a samurai. I think this because at the end, the book says he was promoted to be a samurai when he got back to his family. The text says, "Since he neither has the family or the upbringing of a samurai, I hope he has the heart of one. He's going to need it!" those statements make me think that he became a samurai and that's why he needs a heart of a samurai.
I do agree. Love is powerful, ridiculous, and wonderful. It affect’s Despereaux’s life by having him fall in love with a human princess. It has him come up from the dungeon just so he could go back down. It had him love a book so when he went down to the dungeon he would come back up. The love had him do lots of other things to but if it wasn’t there none of that would have ever happened. _Ariana
My response to the question is this. Manjiro became a samurai. I think this because it says on page 275 in the book that he became a samurai. Suddenly, Manjiro, with his unique firsthand knowledge of America, was needed in Edo, by order of the shogun. He was appointed as a samurai to the shogun, allowed to carry swords and to take a second name.(Page 275). I think that he became a samurai. -Eric
Yes, Manjiro becomes a samurai because he has been to America. In the epilogue, he becomes a very high samurai because he did good deeds in Japan. He talked to Lord Nagasaki about America. Everyone bows to him in the street. He is one of the most peaceful samurais ever. That’s why I think Manjiro becomes a samurai.
