Heart of a Samurai Due 10/15

Why can't Manjiro return to Japan if he is rescued by the Americans? How does this affect his future dreams? This should be a minimum of five sentences. This is worth five points.

  1. The reason why Manjiro can't return to Japan if he is rescued by Americans is because Manjiro had formed a bond with some of the other members on the ship and he feels very gracious to the Americans. Also Manjiro is very curious and wants to see what awaits him in America and see if America is really like what some of the crew members say it's like. This affects his future dreams because in America they do not have Samurai warriors. So he can't become a Samurai what was what he said he wanted to be to his Japanese friends.

  2. This is my response: Manjiro cant return to japan if he is rescued by the Americans because the japanese will destroy the John Howland. This effects his future dreams because he will be killed too. But if he wants to be samurai he can't be killed. But if he goes to America they wont be killed. That is why Manjiro can't go back to Japan. -Cooper

  3. Manjiro can not go back to Japan if he is rescued by the americans because they will think he has turned into a barbarian. If they think he is a barbarian they will kill him. They might also kill his friends and family. This will affect his dreams because he will be dead. That is why he can not return to Japan.

  4. Manjiro has been rescued by Americans. Since he has been rescued by them, therefore he cannot go back to his homeland, Japan. He can't return to Japan because if the Americans go there they will die because the Japanese people think they are crazy and not polite and the Japanese call the Americans "barbarians". Also, Manjiro would die because the Japanese think his mind has been "poisoned" by the "barbarians". The Americans do not want their ship to be torn by the Japanese because they will do that. So, Manjiro cannot go back to his homeland because if he does he, his friends and the Americans will die.

  5. Manjiro can't return to Japan if his life is rescued by Americans because if you go past a certain point in the sea you can never return. If you are a foreiner you can never go in the boundaries you are killed on spot. This shaters his dream of becoming a samurai. It does this because he can never go back to Japan and he will always be at sea.If he is always at sea, he can not get training for becoming a samurai, for he will have to stop in the middle because he'll have to go out to sea on the John Howland with the Americans.

  6. Why Manjiro can’t return to Japan is because he was rescued by American’s and if you are a foreigner you get killed on the spot. So, he wouldn’t get to stay alive. Why it affects his dream is because if he cant return to Japan then he cant be a Samurai. If he goes to America then he would never return to Japan. If the John Howland was to return to Japan they all would be killed even Manjiro. That Is why It effects his dream being a Samurai.

Manjiro can't return to Japan if he is rescued by the Americans because if he does they will kill him because of their religious beliefs.
this will affect his future dreams because he can't become a samurai if he is affected by what Japanese think are barbarians better actually the Americans.
